….five stars!!! We are staying at an awesome (really awesome!) 5-star rain forest retreat in Franz Josef, NZ. The bathroom floors have a controllable thermostat....as does the bed mattresses. We've got leather furniture in our room with a large HDTV mounted on the wall. I would even sleep in the bathroom....it's so nice! Our room opens out onto a patio that overlooks the glacier hot pools behind the resort. Fancy! Fancy! www.tewaonui.co.nz
What are glacier hot pools...you ask? Well, we couldn't resist paying to find out (and Jenesa made me!). There were three pools....each with varying temperatures (102, 106, 110 degrees). Each pool was surrounded by lush rainforest vegetation and fed with local glacier water. We relaxed for over an hour under the stars....steam rising up off the water......and the pool lights providing a nice romantic evening for husband and wife (life is good!).
