We had planned to relax a little today....hit the beaches and maybe go on a few tours of Los Angeles after a looooooong day yesterday. Scratch that! We rented a Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic and hit the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) for San Diego! The PCH runs right along the coast, and it's great to ride through the many beach towns (Huntington, Laguna, Newport). At different times you are practically cliffside and the ocean is right below you....except I was too scared to look down! It was definitely a scenic ride to San Diego...and we didn't think we'd ever get there.
FOUR AND A HALF HOURS LATER....and over 150 miles of blood, sweat, and tears.....we approached San Diego! The first thing on our "to do" list was visit Coronado Island - home of the Navy SEALS (ok...this was first on MY list!). The only thing standing in our way was the Bridge!!! It was the scariest looking thing I've ever seen. I thought I got over my fear of bridges (especially on a bike), but this was the big Kahuna of bridges. Even Jenesa closed her eyes....and she was in charge of taking pictures!!! Trust me, this picture doesn't do the Bridge an ounce of justice.
After surviving the Bridge...we arrived in town and visited the Hotel Del Coronado - a beachfront luxury resort hotel. All I can say is that I wish I could afford to stay at a place like this! We pretended to "fit in" with the prim and proper clientele as we walked through the lobby and gardens of the resort. Coronado Island has lots of nice little shops, restaurants, and traffic. After grabbing a bite to eat (it was almost 5pm at this point) we circled the island and headed back to San Diego for a quick stop at Petco Park before rush hour traffic arrived. Then, only 150 miles (and a few hours) back to our hotel in Redondo Beach.....and we could call it another day.....gotta love it!

So Wonderful! You two rest?? I dont think so! Isn't the weather AWESOME there! I love all the pictures! Keep the blogs coming! I am living through your vacation remember! Be safe on Bridges!
